About Dave MacCormick
Having taught and led in various schools in Devon and Somerset, Dave was appointed as Headteacher of Holyrood Academy in January 2020. Holyrood is an 11-18 school in Chard, which serves a mixed rural and urban South Somerset catchment and is part of Blackdown Education Partnership, a Trust of 10 schools. Dave is proud to lead a school and community which exists to promote social justice and social mobility for Chard and the surrounding area. Dave co-chairs the ‘Thriving Schools’ thread of Somerset’s 5-year education strategy, which aspires to improve the attainment, attendance and life chances of students in Somerset.
